This page is the index of every online casino review we have published for Canadian players, from crown sites to offshore brands, sorted A to Z. Each report gives a score out of 100, one of four verdicts and the brand’s licence status, so you can see at a glance whether a site is regulated where you live. The best rated online casinos in our reviews are all crown sites or operators licensed in Ontario or Alberta. That follows from our method.
Below the introduction, the theme lists every brand page we have written. Use your browser’s find function to jump to a name. Sub pages, such as an app page or a promo code page, sit under the brand’s own report.
How the A-Z casino reviews index works
Each entry in the list links to one report page with a fixed layout. At the top, the theme prints the verdict, the scorecard with the five criteria, a strip showing the provinces where the brand is legally offered, and a spec sheet with payments, apps and products. The text below explains the score in plain language and links to the evidence: the regulator’s register, the operator’s terms and help pages, and the app store listings.
We cover more than 300 brands. Some are household names with Ontario sportsbooks; others are small casino sites that appear in search results and adverts aimed at Canadians. We review both kinds because people ask about both. A review is not an endorsement: plenty of the reports in this index end with a caution or avoid verdict.
The verdict scale used in every report
Scores run from 0 to 100 and translate into four verdicts. The thresholds are the same on every page.
| Verdict | Score | Who can get it |
|---|---|---|
| Recommended | 80-100 | Crown sites and provincially licensed operators only |
| Acceptable | 65-79 | Any brand, if payments, terms and protection hold up |
| Caution | 45-64 | Where many offshore brands with a Malta or Kahnawake licence end up |
| Avoid | 0-44 | Weak or missing licence, unclear terms, warning signs |
Brands we found to be closed, not accepting Canadians or linked to scam adverts keep a short page so readers who search for them get an honest answer. Those pages carry an avoid verdict or no score at all. The full weights behind each score are explained on our rating method page.
Top rated online casino brands, and why they are regulated
Licence and legal standing is worth 30 of the 100 points. A crown site or an operator registered with the AGCO and iGaming Ontario, or with AGLC and the Alberta iGaming Corporation, receives all 30. An offshore brand licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority receives 14, one licensed in Kahnawake 12, and one licensed in Curacao or Anjouan 6. That gap, plus the rule that only regulated brands can be recommended, is why the top of our rankings is made up of crown and provincially licensed sites.
The other 70 points separate good regulated sites from average ones: payments and payouts (Interac, Canadian dollars, published payout terms), bonus fairness, the product itself, and player protection tools such as deposit limits, self-exclusion and a clear complaints route. Our casino rankings sort the regulated brands by these scores.
Safe online casinos in Canada: what the licence tells you
When people search for a safe casino online or a legit online casino in Canada, the practical question is: who can you complain to if something goes wrong? With a crown site or an Ontario or Alberta licensee, the answer is a provincial body with published standards. With an offshore site, the licence is held abroad or in Kahnawake, provincial rules do not apply, and your options shrink to the operator’s own process and the foreign regulator’s.
Every offshore report in this index has its own licence section near the top. It names the regulator we could confirm, states that the brand is not licensed by any province, and notes whether the brand blocks Ontario players. We never publish mirror links or tips for getting around a block. Our guide to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission explains the most common offshore licence in more detail.
Trusted online casino checks you can do yourself
You do not need to rely on any review site, including ours. Three checks take a few minutes.
- Ontario: look the brand up in iGaming Ontario’s public directory of regulated sites. The website address matters; some brands run a separate site for the rest of Canada under a different licence.
- Alberta: look for the operator on AGLC’s gaming registrants list under the iGaming operator class.
- Everywhere else: your regulated option is the crown site of your province. Any other site is offshore, whatever its marketing says.
Then read the bonus terms and the withdrawal section of the terms before depositing. If those are hard to find or vague, treat it as a warning.
Brands people ask about that we have not reviewed yet
Some brands appear in searches for internet casino reviews before we have a full report. Golden Tiger and Luxury Casino are listed in iGaming Ontario’s directory under Apollo Entertainment Ltd, which also runs Captain Cooks Casino and Zodiac Casino; the same company appears on AGLC’s register in Alberta. Betsafe did not appear in iGaming Ontario’s directory when we checked on 29 October 2026, and we have no report on CanPlay yet. Until a report exists, use the checks above. Brands that share an operator are grouped on our casino sister sites page.
How often reports are updated
Each report shows the date it was last checked. We revisit licence status first, because it changes the score the most, then payment methods and bonus terms. When a brand closes, loses a licence or stops accepting Canadians, its page is shortened and its verdict changed rather than deleted. Facts such as welcome offers, wagering and minimum deposits come from our operator data and update in the tables without a full rewrite.
A note on age and limits
Every report assumes you are of legal age: 19+ (18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec), and physically located in the province where the site is licensed. If gambling has stopped being fun, the help lines on our responsible gambling page are free and confidential.
Questions readers ask
- What is the best rated online casino in Canada?
In our reviews the highest scores go to crown sites and operators licensed in Ontario or Alberta, because only they can earn a recommended verdict. Which one suits you depends on the province you are in. The report card on our front page lists the current leaders.
- Do affiliate links influence casino online reviews here?
No brand can buy a score or a verdict. Some links to operators are affiliate links, as explained on our affiliate disclosure page, but the score follows the same five criteria for every brand.
- Why does an offshore casino get a caution verdict even with good games?
Because licence and legal standing carry 30 of the 100 points. An offshore licence earns 14 points at most, and provincial complaint routes do not cover the site, so even strong payments and games rarely lift it past caution.
- How can I tell if an online casino is legit in Canada?
Check iGaming Ontario's directory if you are in Ontario, AGLC's registrant list if you are in Alberta, or use your province's crown site elsewhere. Any other site is offshore, whatever its marketing claims.
- What if the brand I want is not in the index?
Tell us through the contact page. Until a report exists, the self-checks on this page show whether a province licenses the brand.
