Reports say Captain Spins casino has closed: LCB lists the closure in March 2026, and AskGamblers also says it has shut down. It was run by White Hat Gaming Limited under a Malta Gaming Authority licence, with a UK Gambling Commission licence also cited, and it never held a Canadian provincial licence. We could not confirm the closure on an official domain, and one Canadian review page still shows the brand as active, so treat any live-looking Captain Spins site with care.
What the closure means for Canadian players
A closed brand offers no new sign-ups, no Captain Spins bonus, no free spins and no promo code. Pages that still advertise a Captain Spins no deposit bonus or a Canadian welcome deal are out of date. If you held an account, any remaining balance and withdrawal request is a matter between you and White Hat Gaming Limited. Because the licence was issued in Malta, the Malta Gaming Authority, not a Canadian body, is the licensing authority to contact about the brand.
Licence history and Captain Spins legit questions
While it operated, Captain Spins was a licensed business with a known owner, so it was not a scam brand. It was never registered with the AGCO in Ontario or the AGLC in Alberta, and no province licensed it. Under section 207 of the Criminal Code, provinces alone conduct online casino games or register operators to do so.
Look-alike sites and mobile apps
When a known casino closes, its name is sometimes reused by unrelated sites. If you find a Captain Spins mobile site or app today, check the company named in the footer and the licence link before you share any personal data. Do not install apps from outside the official stores.

White Hat Gaming Limited is also linked to Gate777, whose status we list as unclear. For a regulated choice, residents of Ontario and Alberta can use registered private operators, and every other province has a lottery corporation site; see our province guide.
