"Offshore access" means the site accepts players there without a provincial licence: provincial rules and complaint routes do not cover it.

Bets.io offers no Interac option for Canadians. AskGamblers describes it as a crypto-only casino and sportsbook, active since 2021, with an Anjouan licence. It is offshore: no Canadian province licenses it and it is not on the iGaming Ontario list. Deposits and withdrawals run in cryptocurrency, and card payments are converted to crypto.

Bets.io showed us a country block when we tried to load it, and we could not confirm whether it accepts Canadian players. AskGamblers names two different companies as owner, Bets Entertainments N.V. and TESSERA LIMITED SRL, which we also could not resolve.

Bets.io licence and legal position

The Criminal Code, section 207, makes online gambling a provincial responsibility. The regulated options for Canadians are the crown platforms and the private operators registered in Ontario and Alberta. Bets.io is none of these. Its licence is from the Anjouan Gaming Board in the Comoros, the lightest tier in our scoring.

What that means for you: a dispute goes to the operator and then to Anjouan, not to the AGCO or a provincial corporation. Provincial self-exclusion does not apply, and Canadian rules on bonus advertising do not reach the site. We found no law that makes joining an offence for the player, but nobody in Canada can intervene for you. The conflicting owner names add to the uncertainty.

Track record and doubts

Bets.io has a multi-year track record and appears in major review databases, which counts for something in the crypto casino space. Against that sit an Anjouan licence, two different owner names and no Canadian payment method. Our score places it in the avoid band.

Bets.io crypto payments and withdrawals

AskGamblers lists Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether and other coins. Your balance is held in crypto, so its value in Canadian dollars can move while you play, and you pay exchange and network fees on the way in and out. Withdrawal time on file: not stated. Crypto transfers cannot be recalled once sent. Our crypto casinos page covers tax, fee and volatility questions, and our Interac guide explains why many Canadians prefer bank-linked payments.

Bets.io bonus and promo code

We could not read the current Bets.io welcome offer or promo code on the operator’s pages. Confirmed values appear here: welcome offer not stated; promo code not stated; wagering not stated. We found no Bets.io no deposit bonus traceable to the operator. Crypto casino bonuses often set a maximum bet in USD and exclude certain games from wagering. Our bonus guide lists what to check.

Bets.io sportsbook

AskGamblers says the sportsbook runs on SOFTSWISS, a platform supplier. Odds and markets on an offshore book are set by the operator alone, without provincial oversight. Regulated single-event betting has been available in Canada since August 2021; see our sports betting section.

Bets.io on mobile devices

We have no confirmed Bets.io app in the App Store or Google Play. Anything offered outside the official stores is not reviewed by Apple or Google.

Sister sites and the two owner names

Because the owner is reported two ways, we cannot reliably name sister sites. Match the company name and licence number in the footer of any site that claims a link.
