About us

Our Editorial Team

A small team of researchers and editors writes our reports. The lead reviewer byline, Elliot Marsh, is a disclosed pen name.

Our Editorial Team

Our reports are written by a small team of researchers and editors, and they are published under one byline: Elliot Marsh, our senior reviewer. Elliot Marsh is a pen name, not a real person’s name, and the portrait that goes with it is an illustration, not a photograph. We say this openly because you should know who stands behind a verdict, even when the team prefers to work without public profiles.

Why we use a pen name

Gambling reviews attract pressure: from operators unhappy with a verdict, from affiliates and from people who want a score changed. A shared byline keeps the focus on the method rather than on individuals, and it keeps the voice of the site consistent across hundreds of pages. The pen name signs for the editorial team as a whole. It does not represent a single expert with credentials we cannot show you.

Who does what

  • Researchers collect the facts behind each report: licence registers, the operator’s terms and help pages, app store listings and regulator announcements. Every fact is logged with its source.
  • Legal research keeps the province-by-province frame up to date: who may offer what, minimum ages and help lines, using laws, regulator pages and government releases.
  • Editors write and edit the pages, apply the scoring rules on how we rate and check that each claim matches its source.
  • The senior reviewer signs off verdicts and decides when a brand’s status changes, for example when it gains or loses a licence.

What we do not do

We do not claim first-hand testing we cannot document. Our reports describe what operators publish and what regulators record, and they say so. We do not accept payment for a score, and commercial links do not affect a verdict, as explained in our affiliate disclosure. We do not write about ways around provincial geo-blocks.

Corrections

If you find an error, a fact that has changed or a brand we describe incorrectly, write to us through the contact page. We check the claim against the source, correct the page if needed and update the date shown on it. Material corrections to a verdict are noted in the report.

Questions readers ask

Is Elliot Marsh a real person?

No. Elliot Marsh is a pen name used by our senior reviewer on behalf of a small team of researchers and editors, and the portrait is an illustration.

Who decides a casino's verdict?

Editors apply the published scoring rules, and the senior reviewer signs off the verdict. The same criteria and weights apply to every brand.
