LiveBet Review

LiveBet has no Canadian provincial licence, and the name is used loosely enough that we could not pin down one operator. What we checked and what to look for.

"Offshore access" means the site accepts players there without a provincial licence: provincial rules and complaint routes do not cover it.

“LiveBet” is both a brand name and an everyday term for in-play betting, which makes the site hard to pin down. No Canadian province licenses a site under that name and none is on the iGaming Ontario list. The official site we tried refused our researchers, so we could not confirm which site Canadians mean by the name, who runs it or which regulator, if any, oversees it.

That ambiguity is itself the main finding of this LiveBet review. Before you deposit at any site using the name, you need to establish the operator yourself, and below is how.

Legal position of a LiveBet site in Canada

In Canada, betting and casino sites are run or registered by provinces. The regulated options are crown sites such as PlayNow, PROLINE+ and Mise-o-jeu, and private operators registered in Ontario or Alberta. LiveBet is none of these.

Question Answer
Provincially licensed? No
Foreign licence? Unconfirmed
Operator named? Unconfirmed
Accepts Canada? Unconfirmed

We do not say that betting there would be an offence for you. The issue is that an unlicensed, unidentified operator leaves you with no one to appeal to if a bet is voided or a withdrawal refused.

Is LiveBet legit? Live betting versus the brand

Many searches for “livebet” are really about in-play betting, which regulated Canadian sportsbooks offer. In-play markets move fast and can be suspended in seconds; that is normal and not a sign of a scam. What makes a site trustworthy is a named operator, a checkable licence and clear rules on voided bets. Our sports betting guide explains how in-play odds and single-event bets work in Canada.

To identify a site calling itself LiveBet:

  • find the company name and address in the terms;
  • click the licence seal and confirm it opens the regulator’s own page;
  • read the rules on voided and cancelled bets, which matter most for live betting.

Live betting also has a cost that has nothing to do with licences: quick decisions make it easy to stake more than you planned. A regulated sportsbook lets you set deposit and time limits in the account; an unidentified site may offer nothing of the kind.

LiveBet casino and bonus

Some searches pair the name with “casino”. We could not confirm a casino product, a welcome offer or a promo code: welcome offer not stated, promo code not stated. Sportsbook bonuses usually come as free bets or deposit matches with odds minimums; casino bonuses carry wagering. Our bonus guide covers both.

LiveBet app and withdrawal

We could not confirm a LiveBet app in the Canadian App Store or Google Play, and no payout terms on file: not stated. Apps with similar names exist; check the developer name on the listing against the operator in the site’s terms. A regulated Ontario sportsbook app checks that you are in Ontario before you bet; an app that skips this is not part of the provincial system.

Where to bet legally

Ontario bettors can choose from sportsbooks on the iGaming Ontario list or OLG’s PROLINE+; see our PROLINE review. Other provinces run their own sports betting sites. Betting is 19+ (18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec). Free help is listed on our responsible gambling page.

Questions readers ask

Is LiveBet licensed in Canada?

No. No province licenses a site under that name, and we could not confirm any foreign licence.

How do I find out who runs a LiveBet site?

Read the terms for a company name and address, then look that company up on the regulator's register. We could not confirm an operator ourselves.

Which LiveBet app is the real one?

We could not confirm any in the Canadian stores. Compare the developer name on a listing with the operator in the site's terms.

Where can I bet live legally in Canada?

On provincial sites such as PROLINE+ or PlayNow, or on sportsbooks registered in Ontario or Alberta.

Scores and verdicts follow our published scoring rules. We earn a commission from some operators; it never changes a score. Facts come from operators' own pages and regulators' registries; we do not open accounts or make deposits. 19+ (18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec). Help and limits.
