Only one Saskatchewan online casino is legal: PlayNow.com, launched in the province on 3 November 2022, managed by SaskGaming and operated by SIGA. Players must be 19+ and in Saskatchewan. The province has no regulated private market, so every other site that takes Saskatchewan players is offshore.

How online gaming is organised in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan’s set-up has more partners than most. The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) is the regulator. SaskGaming, a provincial crown corporation, manages PlayNow.com, and SIGA operates it. The site runs on the platform built by BCLC in British Columbia, the same technology used in BC and Manitoba. The provincial government announced the launch on 3 November 2022 and described PlayNow.com as the province’s legal, regulated online gaming platform. As in every province, the legal basis is the Criminal Code rule that only a province may conduct and manage gambling.

What PlayNow.com offers in Saskatchewan

At launch the Saskatchewan site offered casino games and sports betting, including single-event wagers on the PlayNow Sports platform. Poker and other products may have been added since, but we could not confirm them on an official page, so we do not list them as available. The Saskatchewan version is separate from the BC and Manitoba versions and only accepts players located in Saskatchewan. Our PlayNow review covers the platform as a whole and notes the parts we could not check.

Age rules: 19 online, 18 for lottery tickets

PlayNow.com in Saskatchewan is for players 19 and older. Lottery tickets are a different case: they are sold through Sask Lotteries under the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, and WCLC policy refuses to sell or cash tickets for anyone under 18. So a Saskatchewan resident aged 18 can buy a Lotto Max ticket at a retailer but cannot open a PlayNow account.

Lottery and sports lottery in the province

Through WCLC, Saskatchewan sells the national draws Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49 and Daily Grand, plus the regional Western Max, available only in the Prairie provinces and the northern territories. The regional add-on is EXTRA, with a top prize of $250,000. For sports, retailers sell Sport Select, where one ticket can combine up to eight picks across PRO-LINE, OVER/UNDER, POINT SPREAD and PROPS. Draw results are on our Western Max page and the national game pages; WCLC remains the official source for any ticket.

Offshore sites that accept Saskatchewan players

Offshore casinos and sportsbooks also advertise to Saskatchewan, and some list Interac among their payment methods. None is licensed by the province. We include three in the table below because readers ask about them, not because we prefer them to the provincial site: each is licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority according to our research, none holds a provincial licence, and all three are rated caution.

The difference shows up when something goes wrong. SLGA has no authority over an offshore operator, and the provincial help and self-exclusion tools on PlayNow do not extend to it. If an offshore site delays a payout, your only formal route is its foreign licensing body. We do not call offshore play a crime for the player, because no court has ruled on that; the Kahnawake guide explains the most common licence Canadians see and why it is not provincial.

Checking a sportsbook before the NHL or CFL season

Hockey and football seasons bring a wave of sportsbook ads into Saskatchewan feeds. Before you sign up anywhere, read the footer for the operator’s name and the licence it cites, and see whether the site asks to confirm that you are in the province. PlayNow names its provincial partners; an offshore book names a company abroad. Our sports betting section explains odds formats and bankroll limits, and we never publish picks or tips.

Could Saskatchewan follow Alberta?

Alberta’s private market opened on 13 July 2026, next door, and readers ask whether Saskatchewan will do the same. We found no announced plan, bill or consultation for a private online market in Saskatchewan as of October 2026. Any change would need provincial legislation and a public list of authorised operators, as in Ontario and Alberta, and an Alberta registration would not carry over: Alberta-registered sites only accept players physically located in Alberta. If you live near the border and play on an Alberta account, the site will stop you betting once geolocation places you in Saskatchewan. Until the rules change, PlayNow.com is the only site covered by Saskatchewan regulation, and we will update this page if that changes.

Saskatchewan’s 24-hour help line

The Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Help Line is free and answers 24 hours a day at 1-800-306-6789. It is the number to call for yourself or for someone close to you, and the call does not require you to have an account anywhere. Limits on deposits, losses and session time are the simplest protective step on any regulated site; our responsible gambling page explains how to set them.
