How CollectR and the expanding grid work

Instead of lining symbols up across reels, the game uses collecting characters: under CollectR, birds gather symbols from the grid, and the grid can grow from 6×6 towards 8×8. ELK and OLBG describe the mechanic only in outline. The exact collection and expansion rules sit in the game’s help screen, which is worth a read before the first spin. If you played Pirots 4, the core loop will feel the same; the new elements are the theme and the extra events.

New characters and events in the fifth game

  • Cpt. Blackfeather: turns birds into ghosts, which changes how they collect.
  • Catacombs: mummy battles, one of the events new to this game.
  • Secret Door: rotates the grid.
  • Cursed Temple: a coin game added on top of the base collection.
  • Wilds and transformations: symbols that change into others to help collections.

Bonus, Super Bonus and the X-iter option

Three bonus symbols trigger the Bonus; the Super Bonus is the stronger version. ELK’s X-iter modes let you pay to enter features directly, and the list includes a 250x super bonus. That is a large share of a bankroll for one round, and bonus buys are not offered in every market, so the option may be missing where you play.

Pirots 5 RTP versions and what to check

OLBG lists three settings: 96%, 94% and 92%. The casino chooses which version runs, and the difference adds up over many spins on a medium-high volatility game. Open the paytable or rules screen before you play and look for the stated return. Our high RTP slots page explains how to read that figure.
